German Super League 2026 Expands Across Germany with Hamburg, Frankfurt, NRW and Stuttgart Editions

The German Super League (GSL) 2026 continued to strengthen Germany’s domestic cricket calendar, with regional editions taking place across the country and bringing high-intensity T10 cricket to different cricketing communities. Following the Berlin edition, the GSL expanded through Hamburg, Frankfurt and North Rhine-Westphalia, with Stuttgart set to host another edition later in September 2026. The nationwide approach formed part of the Deutscher Cricket Bund’s broader vision of building a stronger and more sustainable domestic cricket structure in Germany.

The GSL Hamburg T10 2026 was played across two blocks from 20–24 July and 27–31 July at Sportplatz Jägerhof, bringing German club teams together for a packed schedule of fast-paced T10 cricket. The GSL Frankfurt 2026 followed from 11–22 August at FCA Darmstadt Sportplatz, featuring 43 matches across 11 days and participation from leading regional clubs. The NRW edition then brought the competition to GelsenTrabPark in Gelsenkirchen, running from 31 August to 9 September and featuring a league stage followed by the newly introduced Super 6 playoff structure.

Across these editions, SMW Global Media was involved across Commercial Rights, Media Rights & Production, working in partnership with the Deutscher Cricket Bund (DCB). The company’s involvement supported the commercial and media framework of the GSL, while SMW Remote was utilised for the remote sports production, enabling professional, broadcast-grade live coverage and efficient production from different venues across Germany.

The scale of the GSL also highlighted the importance of a consistent production and media infrastructure as domestic cricket expands across multiple regions. Coverage from the different editions reached audiences through digital platforms including DCB YouTube, SportVot, Cricket Lounge TV and Action Sports, helping make German domestic cricket more accessible beyond the stadiums.

With Stuttgart scheduled to become the next GSL destination later in September, the 2026 season continued to demonstrate the potential of a nationwide regional cricket model. The expansion of the German Super League is creating more opportunities for clubs and players while building a stronger pipeline of domestic cricket content, live sports production and digital engagement across Germany. Current reporting also identifies Stuttgart as one of the next GSL editions following Gelsenkirchen.

The continued rollout of the German Super League 2026 represented an important step in the development of German domestic cricket and European T10 cricket, with multiple regional competitions creating a broader and more consistent cricket ecosystem across the country.
